This matters more than people expect. Push backs are quicker to put on and take off. Screw backs thread onto the post and will not work loose — the right choice for anything worn continuously, slept in, or valuable enough that losing one would matter. For a diamond stud, screw backs are usually worth it.

Men's studs generally run from around 0.10 Ct to 1.00 Ct per ear. Below 0.25 Ct reads as subtle and works under most professional dress codes. Around 0.50 Ct is clearly visible without being loud. Above that becomes a statement. Because the stone sits against skin rather than metal, it tends to read slightly larger than the same diamond in a ring.
