With nothing else on the band, a solitaire puts the full weight of attention on cut and brilliance. There is nowhere for a poor cut to hide and nothing needed to prove a good one. It is also the most future-proof choice: a solitaire pairs with any wedding band, works with any wardrobe, and never reads as dated. It also makes a given carat weight look larger, because attention is not divided across multiple stones. If you want more visual size for the same budget, a halo ring or a cluster design will get you further.

Round Brilliant — 57 to 58 facets, engineered for maximum light return. The safest choice and the most requested.

Oval, Marquise and Pear — elongated shapes cover more surface area, so they read larger than a round diamond of the same carat weight and lengthen the finger. We specialise in elongated fancy shapes.

Emerald and Asscher — step cuts. These favour clarity and depth over sparkle, with a glassy, architectural look. Because the facets are open, clarity grade matters more here than in any other shape.

Cushion, Princess and Radiant — more structure and vintage character than a round, without leaving classic territory.

Old Mine and Antique Cuts — hand-cut proportions, chunky facets, and a warm candlelit fire that modern cuts do not produce. This is our signature, and very few Indian brands offer it.

Prong (4 or 6) lets the most light into the stone and is the default for good reason. Bezel wraps the stone in a metal rim — the most secure setting and the best choice for daily wear or hands-on work. Cathedral, high-set and low-set control how tall the diamond sits above the band, which decides whether it catches on clothing and how it stacks with a wedding or stacking band. • Cut quality matters most. An excellent-cut 1.00 Ct will outshine a poorly cut 1.50 Ct. Never trade cut for carat.
• Certification is non-negotiable. IGI grading independently confirms cut, colour, clarity and carat. Every Tinch diamond ships with its certificate.
• Carat weight is not visual size. A 1.50 Ct oval or marquise looks noticeably larger than a 1.50 Ct round. Compare spread in millimetres, not just carats.

• Lab-grown versus mined is a price decision, not a quality one. A lab-grown diamond is chemically and physically identical, carries the same certification and the same 10 on the Mohs scale, and gets you a larger or higher-grade stone for the same budget.
